Letter to the Editor about Abortion

To the editor:

It has been 32 years since the Supreme Court made abortion legal in Roe v Wade. Now more than 45.5 million innocent unborn children have been brutally murdered in legalized abortion. That is more than the combined populations of Alabama, Florida, and Texas!

As a society who values our rights we should not trample on the rights of the youngest and most vulnerable members of our society. Abortion is not an acceptable practice of birth control. It is infanticide.

Adoption is a wonderful alternative. There are currently more than 2 million couples waiting to adopt children. There are Crisis Pregnancy Centers all over the country that will help women who are having a crisis pregnancy.

Norma McCorvey who used to be the poster child for abortion is now a pro-life advocate. Today, January 18 the lawyer for Norma McCorvey who was the "Roe" of Roe v Wade is filing a petition with the Supreme Court to reverse their 1973 decision. I believe that Roe v Wade should be overturned and abortion on demand ended.

On January 24 hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans will participate in the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. to protest the abhorrent practice of abortion. I hope the Montgomery Advertiser will give adequate coverage to the march.

I urge everyone to join in defending the most vulnerable members of society and demand an end to the immoral, and evil practice of legalized abortion.
